Made bed for a productive morning!

The way you start your morning is the building block for a productive day. Your day starts in the morning, so keep it organized and calm. Compared to chaotic and rushed like they usually are. We have all been at the point of not waking up to our alarm after snoozing it ten times and basically having to run out the door and usually forget something important and feel anxious and stressed about everything you forgot to do. Creating a productive morning routine to follow every morning is a great way to have successful and fulfilling days, everyday!

Why Morning Routines are Important

Morning routines may not seem very important, but a productive morning routine leads to a better day, which leads to a better life. There are many benefits of curating a routine.

Mental Wellbeing: Rushed mornings often lead to anxiety and stress. Structure is very important to make sure there is time to eat, complete morning tasks, and get ready for work, school or even a fun day out. Not having to stress about being late or missing an important step of the day will reduce stress and anxiety levels greatly.

Improve Sleep Cycle:  You can avoid the chaos of snoozing your alarm until the last minute and rushing out the door. We have all been there but doing this is actually messing with your sleep cycle, in which sleep is very important. When creating a morning routine, you are being consistent and set up a time to wake up no matter what. Consistency will help with getting the right amount of sleep and regulate your system.

Increased Productivity:  A productive morning routine allows for a setup of successful days at work and school. If you wake up organized, energetic and motivated from the moment you wake up, the rest of your day is going to be productive and worthwhile.

Enhancement of Physical Self:  Morning routines leave time in the morning to work on your physical health. Morning routines help regulate sleep and that means you will wake up more energized and motivated. Set your goal, wake up on time, and start your workout immediately, and you’ll get it done. No more excuses about being tired after work or school!

Increased Relaxation: Many people respond well to structure, consistency, and routine. Having a morning routine that you know works well for you puts the mind at ease which causes relaxation and wellbeing every morning. Many people include meditation and yoga in their routines which calm the mind and body. Another practice added into the routines is journaling, which not only can relax your mind, but it can decrease anxiety, stress and depression.

Simple Steps of a Morning Routine

Wake up time: Set a time every morning to wake up to stay consistent and get your sleep cycle regulated. Make sure your alarm clock is set the night before. Or if able to, set your alarm clock on a daily schedule. A tip would be to set your alarm away from arms reach. You wont be tempted to snooze the alarm and mess up your routine!

Make your bed: I know I personally need to work on this but making your bed every morning is so important.  Waking up and making your bed first thing in the morning boosts your productivity, encourages a tidy and clean space, which can help with mental health. It’s such a quick and small thing that people don’t realize could make a huge impact on their daily lives.

Eat Breakfast: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating breakfast provides you with the energy needed to succeed throughout your day. Food is fuel, and without your daily tasks will be so much more difficult to complete. If you struggle eating early, try a granola bar or even a protein smoothie.

Technology Limitations: Doom scrolling is so common and waking up and spending a ton of time on your devices is not the best way to start a productive morning. Your devices are acting as a distraction and steering you away from completing your organized routine to kickstart your day! Instead of doom scrolling get up and get moving, you will feel so much better.

Morning Movement: Getting up and moving first thing in the morning is so important for you in so many ways. Doing Yoga, Pilates or even doing a full strength/ cardio workout is amazing. This is for both your mental and physical health. Movement helps boost your endorphins, regulate your blood sugar and boosts energy levels. Just waking up and doing a stretch flow workout works wonders. When you wake up and have a routine and time every day even for a ten-minute workout you are already setting yourself up for success, not just for the morning but for the whole day!
